Changed my Speed Triple for an XB12S not long ago. What a grin these things are.I am now looking to change the stock exhaust for a Jardine and fit a K+N filter, anybody had problems with this?

Hi Bristol

There was a lot of recent chatter on the board just in the last week or two on installing the Jardine. The thread might still be on the board down below...did not look before responding. There are even pics of the installation on the board. You might do a search on Jardine and look at the recent posts.

The K&N filter will be a snap...just take out the old one and replace with the K&N.

Are you allowing for the fact that your fuel mixture will then be lean with the K&N and the Jardine? You might also want to view the recent posts on the Techlusion unit to make the mixture richer...to compensate for the new muffler and filter.

There is a wealth of knowledge on the board...just tap into it. I don't always post, but I read most of it, then copy and paste a lot to word documents for future reference...

Enjoy that new Buell

Bristol...I just checked the threads down below...lots of threads on the Jardine and Techlusion unit. Besides all the mods you will be making, get some ear plugs too for the Jardine

Thanks, already had a good read on Jardine some good some bad but what the hell pick one and try it. The ECM thing is what concerns me most, will the stock one adjust enough for the filter + pipe or go to the race version or twiddle things i don't understand with the Techlusion. The pipe can't be louder than the Speed Triple race system i had on the Triumph it sounded like a WW2 Spitfire when it was wound up.

Nope, you'll need either the race ECM or a TFI unit. Pick.

Bristol...agree with Cataract you will need TFI (Techlusion unit). The changes you mentioned will make the fuel intake lean...need something to make it richer or you will have overheating and other associated bad things happening. DaveS can provide with the usual BWB discount for the Techlusion. If you go with the race ECM, I understand it is richer, but you will then need to have the TSP calibrated/reset, usually at your local H-D dealer.

There is a lot of experience out there on the board with the Techlusion...with the simple mods you are making it should not be too bad, plus as you change more things you can adjust in the future on your own without going to the dealer. Reading the threads, the more mods you make the more tinkering it will take.
