After looking at the Dye jobs done by fellow BWBers, I have been getting severely tempted to dye my yellow bike. I am a lil' worried on how it will turn out so a friend suggested that I find other yellow XB guys to ante up and each contribute some moola to buy a chunk of body work and cut it up into equal pieces so that we can experiment in a way that won't result in one of us riding around in a diarrhea colored Buell. What say you yellow buellied RIT suckers? And we could pass the sale on to Mr. Dave to boot!

I'm Kinda partial to the yellow. It looks sweet, and people can see me coming. They can hear me coming also.

Yeah, have to agree, YELLOW stands out, it's like this.. when you see a warning sign, they are usually YELLOW & BLACK, you take notice.
When I'm riding I want cars to see me, hear me ( ha ha, and that they will), I think the XB9s in Yellow should have a Black frame and black wheels, that would look smart...

If you want to test the dye, just take a small scraping off of the lower fairing where it won't be seen. You could also get enough to test by cutting a bit from where the tank cover attaches where the seat covers it up. It doesn't take much to test with.

Can you dye the plastic piece that goes between the lower fairing? With that piece being gray it gets dirty so easy. I was thinking of painting it black, but dying it sounds pretty cool. Any thoughts?

Don't know if that gray will take enough black dye or not. That section is black already on the 9r.

There have been some yellow parts on e-bay

I'm messing with the color of my bike as well and am getting a tail section to 'test' with then I don't have to worry about messing up my plastic if it doesn't come out right.

If you have an R.
Dye the inside of the rear seat cover.
If you have an S.
Dye the back of your flyscreen.

It may be difficult to test a small area on a piece that you want to remain overall usable as you need to keep the water/dye at 140 degrees F for as long as it takes to get to the color you want. As CPT Planet said, you may want to cut a small piece off of something or just get a spare, crashed part.

I think it would be hard to find a wrecked yellow XB. That is why I think buying a yellow flyscreen and cutting it up to people who want to experiment is better idea. I will dice it up by how many people contribute if there are any takers? Just out of curiosity, how much is a yellow XB S yellow flyscreen Mr. Dave?

That piece on E-Bay is painted yellow. What about a yellow Golf ball?

I thought of that but I don't wouldn't want to chance the yellow not being an exact match and poof! The color of turds represented in two wheels.
