Matt- enough horsepower for you is a fine, there is nothing wrong with that, but it's not fair to apply it to everyone else.
I would love to have an extra 30 or 40 horses when rolling on the throttle coming out of a turn. Racers and street riders both get a good bit of their speed from the drive off of the corners, and as the bike goes more vertical I love to roll on the throttle and feel the surge. |

Spatten,
I understand what you are saying...but inlines have a big rev range which is why that surge is available...in some cases you don't have to shift.
With the Buell the rev range is cut in half or even more than that so a shift may be required no matter what gear one was in...either before the turn or after if the straight line is long enough.
I get what you are saying though...I have had several inlines and they are fun and a different way of riding. The only problem I had with it was starting off the line and having to rev it up to just get going...sure taught me clutch control!
To each their own I say...it is more important to ride what you like/want than what other people think.

I was just saying I think Buell should stay with America. I see no reason to go across the pond for help. Plenty of smart people here in America. There are enough bikes from Japan already so why would Buell go there for engine help. I just think if they did that it would lose some of what makes Buell special. |

Matt, I agree, the surge is from the revs building on the inlines, or at least short stroke 4 valvers. I'm thinking of power more like an RC51 or Ducati, but then I guess you really lose that low RPM Buell character. I wish we could have it all. |

I think you know what I mean you just want to argue. It say AMERICAN MOTORCYCLES on the airbox cover. No need to water it down too much. Yes I realize Showa is not American. Let it go bud, you know what I am saying. |
