I used a dremel but it leaves an un even polish on bigger areas. any idea what to use to sread the polish more evenly?

Tarheel products, or Eastwood, etc have larger buffs you can put on your bench grinder or power drill. I have had some buffs from Tarheel for about 11 years and they are going strong still.
