From my understanding there is a scan tool available for pc now? Can anyone elaborate? I'm interested in doing my tps resets at home. Does it come with the proper adaptor and software?

Jason there is such a software.
Installs on a Pocket PC or Palm Pilot.
With the Pocket PC you have to buy an adapter as well.
Daves sells them I believe.

I got one for the pc.

I was able to use it once and now the dongle is broke.

The service from technoresearch is good and I am getting a new one.

I now own a PDA with Windows Mobile 2003 and technoresearch is so kind to trade my broken pc-version for a pda version.

Fullpower,

The default setting for the serial (com) port is set at com1. Try setting the com port to a different no., or connect the cable to a different port. It's most likely a port issue if it doesn't recognize the dongle.
