I believe that I have some “pitting” occurring on the valve cover of my XB9SX. They look like large white snowflakes on the aluminum. It only has about 100 miles on it, and I don’t think it has gotten wet, but possibly damp. I have included a picture below in case I am incorrectly calling it the valve cover. Sorry if I am. Has anyone had this with their XB engine? Any solutions? Thanks in advance.

I got them too. I was thinking of taking them off and polishing them.

Yeah mines is the same.
Only got 1800 miles on it and only 3 months old.
Well pissed off at the lack of finish.
I think they must be bare aluminum.
You would think they would be painted or something.

Norrie.

I have the same problem. I even noticed the rear axle was pitting when I changed the rear tire...also noticed the bolts for the front pulley cover were corroding. What is the story on this for the Buells? Otherwise, I love this little beast!

Pinch off a wad of NEVERDULL... rub it on... wipe it off. (umm.. of course while the engine is cold). Takes that crap right off EVERY time and lasts for months and months.
