Better to remove plastics and paint the main spar's where they are visible and not worry about the rest... The factory coating should be fine, so if it's a cosmetic change you are after, just stick to the visible bits. | ||

My bike was painted like Trench described, and its great. No problems whatsoever, though it still did take a while. | ||
