Do the runs with the stock lid, then, when best results are reached, throw a chopped lid on and see what happens?

I am willing to chip in for the lid(at dealer cost,of course)

Plus, I need a 12 lid for my 9, and a K&N anyway(at Dave's Badweb discount price)

Dave, U got PM.

Well, if you want Dave to chop it up, he would have some Labor in that. How about we stick to the simple mods to find out if the pipe does as stated. That is the purpose of this. If it does show gains, and people are willing to purchase it, then they can do some runs when their bike is fully stage 1 modded(pipe, cut box, techlusion, filter, stock or race ecm). Let's just be thankful Dave is offering the bike, dyno, and his time! Thanks Dave!

I'll be happy to see any dynos.

I would like to say that there is no longer any doubt in my mind that chopping away the airbox except for the piece on top of the filter makes a noticeable difference in power.

I have the Jardine, TFI, cut snorkel, heat shield on the bottom of the airbox and colder NGK Iridium plugs. I did the airbox mod a couple of weekends ago, cut my finger with the dremel and had to travel, so combined with the crappy so cal weather I only got a short test ride. Today another ride confirmed the difference. The bike runs a little rougher down low, may have lost a little torque there too, but definite gains middle to high. The bike will now easily power wheelie on a first to second shift under power with no leaning back. This is on an R model and I weigh 175 w/o gear. The bike would only wheelie with clutch popping and pulling up on the bars before. I still have yet to put any holes in the outer box.

Anyway, to make a long story short it I believe max power would be with the cut box and it would be very easy to swap if you have the dyno time. Someone would just need to send a lid and some foam to Dave. I can't do it because if I don't ride soon, I may go postal : )

P.S the superglue I used to hold my finger tip back together after the Dremel mishap (from the 3/8" saw bit) worked surprisingly well, so I am back on the bike this weekend: )

Isn't that what superglue was originally designed to do, stick wounds closed in battle??

Hmmm.... I don't know. I never had used it in such a deep wound before, but it doesn't seem to have hurt me at all.

To do everything right just ask the Tiforce manufacturer whatīs necessary to see the advertised horses difference. If they state that itīs a bolt on -- just bolt it on. If they want modifications -- see what mods they want. And donīt forget to ask if thereīs a difference in power gains between the 9 and the 12.

Best regards

Blake, back to the springs...

We sprung the original Force pipe at the main joint with good results. A Buell pipe IMHO needs to be sprung, especially in race application as the are too many forces working on an exhaust pipe.

A Buell motor grows too much to not allow room for expansion. The new Force pipe has worked well for us. Mike A ran this TiForce pipe for us last year, entire year without one breaking issue. I believe due to weight and being sprung it held up very well.

John Costa did break one (TiForce) in Miami, but he modified his and mounted it differently than it it was originally intended to be mounted.

Basically, I believe the springing is needed in our Buell applications.

I got the TiForce pipe today!
It's going to be the week after next before I get a chance to play with it.
I'll keep you all posted on the progress and results.
