Is there a pulsed tach output signal on the XBs that I can connect to when I set up my Lambda meter? Otherwise I'll have to get an inductive pickup for a spark plug wire to derive engine RPM.

On the wiring diagram, there seems to be a Y/BE wire circled with the words "DYNO LOOP". I don't really understand the notation, but it looks promising.

there's a little loop with the y/be wire in the wireloom, you go to look good but it's there
at least on my R it is on the left side under the fairing in the big loom

I've got an S so I wonder where it lives on my bike. Probably under the seat. I wonder if I would spike that wire or use an inductive pickup? If its a small wire, I wouldn't think there would be enough current to fire an inductive pickup. I could be wrong.

It's intended to work with an inductive pick up.

Jersey, the Y/BE wire (pin 6 on the black ecm connector) drives the front ignition coil. The instructions that come with the Lambda meter should indicate if its OK to tap into the coil. Otherwise there is a proper tach output on the pink wire of the black ecm connector (pin 12) which should run your meter no worries. If you connect it all up and your tacho still works then there's nothing to worry about. Looking forward to hearing how it all goes...

No reason to disregard your post. It's loaded with good information (as usual)
