Any one what size tap I would need for the swingarm where the axle screws in.

You might try taking the axle out and then threading it in from the outside to clean the thread up in the swingarm.

A tap that size is going to be ungodly expensive, I have a tap that's an 1/8" larger that cost almost $300. A new swing arm is close to that price. A used swing arm will certainly be less expensive. You might see if there is a machine shop with a tap that large with fine threads. That bit of work wouldn't be horribly expensive.

Did the axle bind when you were trying to remove the rear wheel? I had a real problem with getting mine off when I pulled it the first time to replace the tire. It looked as if there was no anti-seize lubricant on the axle.

Yeah, real expensive tap. I agree with Buellisti. Bring it to a machine shop, they might let you do it for free! And careful, you don't want to use a cutting tap, just a tap for cleaning threads.

maybe you can dress the threads carefully with a 3 cornered file.
