OK, its put up or shut up time. i am ready to put up the cash. show me the titanium can, with the 2 inch stainless headers that adds 10 horsepower to a stock XB12, and i will "show you the money". I have a quote from a west coast distributor of $1200 US for the complete Ti-Force exhaust system, with titanium can. when i see a credible documented ten horsepower increase on an otherwise stock XB12, i stand ready to buy. so here is your customer, just send the best you have to Dave S. in Appleton Wisconsin, and after a thorough flogging, on and off the dyno, let's see what you have to sell.

I'm in too... I'll even throw down if you can only make ten horse with a TFI. I'll need to save it first, but I'll throw it down...

This will be great... We'll have proof of the best induction (V stack challenge) and proof (if it works) of the best exhaust...

Just add TFi for maximum performance...

We should start a betting pool on whether or not this guy ever sends Dave a pipe. Im saying it wont happen because he already knows the pipe wont come close to producing the huge numbers thrown around.

Proof of the best induction? Proof of the best exhaust? I've seen nothing of the kind and don't expect to see it anywhere anytime in the future.

First off, you'll need to define "best" for me. : )

All,
It would be great if we would support this site and those who invest their time and patience into maintaining it by refraining from encouraging the disingenuous marketing efforts of non-sponsors here. I know it's sometimes tough to put the wishes of others ahead of our own desires, but I am asking for that in this case based upon what I think is right, what is just, and what best serves the integrity of this board.

I am asking that all further discussion of the exhaust system in question die here and now.

At the risk of talking about it and suffering your mighty wrath Blake ; )...

If it works (big if) and Dave starts selling them, then wouldn't they be covered under the sponsor program...

If it doesn't work, then Rob is proven to be making false claims and gets to hang his head in shame...

The way I see it, if he's wrong, why not make it as public as possible?? (I hate liers) That way no one will accidentally buy one and get ripped off...

Also, if the pipe is designed to be for the racer crowd with internal mods, then he should admit it and not bother trying to sell them to those who are essentially stock Buell riders... (I haven't had any mods done to me, doesn't that make me a stock rider?? ; ))

I know how much stress this stuff causes you Blake, I'm not trying to bait you (again ; )), but like I said, if he's proven to be lying publicly, won't we all be better off??

Oh, and sorry about the post about the other thing on the other thread... I wasn't peddling, just trying to demonstrate there might be better ways to spend the same amount of money... My bad.

Hmmmm...

Blake wanted me to post dyno charts of our Beson v. Force test on Bartels dyno... I'll have to see if I can whip those up.

The Beson made about 6 HP more than the Force - all other things being equal. Same dyno, same bike, same afternoon. The Beson is not usable on the street because it's so freaking LOUD. I'd be suspicious of claims of 10 HP. I do like the way the TiForce spring-joined though. Gets away from the stresses thak keep breaking pipes and studs.

GSXR,
I've not seen any dyno charts comparing various intakes. My friend and fellow CMRA racer Mark Godfrey (Englishman119) did some comparison testing of four different systems. He put a lot of work into the testing and reporting. Read his comments here. Unfortunately we don't know from his testing if any of the subject intakes improve over the stock setup or the race kitted intake with a cut-up XB12 airbox.

Mark has dyno results, but just never got them posted. I think he emailed them to me also but to my old work email address. I'll see if I can get him to post up the dyno charts. : )

K?

I am confused. I am not one that posts very much, but I don't understand some things. For instance, the above mentioned exhaust system is not okay to discuss here, because they don't sponsor here. Okay, I understand that. What I do am having a hard time with is the other "non-sponsored" things that get talked about all the time. Like when someone asks about a Ducati, BMW, Triumph, Ford, Zero Gravity, Faster DVD, and etc. No one from those companies pays for advertising on this site, but when people talk about these items, no one complains. But when I see someone getting blasted by one of the custodians or admins. for asking about items for their Buell, it seems odd to me. I was especially intrigued when the guy when the Special OPS pipe (Odie?) was given the ultimatum to either tell you what he did with that pipe or else? Like I stated previously, I am just confused about the rules. Not really wanting to ruffle anyone's feathers, but just some clarity would be nice. Maybe a list of what we can and can't talk about on here?

Moboy,

Like it or not this is Blake's board. Not yours, mine or anyone else's here. He makes the rules as he sees fit. Fair is was he decides fair is. This isn't a democracy here. More of a benevolent dictatorship. That aside, there are a lot of great ideas brought up here by others that far out weigh some of the shortcomings. Bottom line is that many here agree with you. Some have left, some have been booted but most seem to keep their opinions about it quiet because we learn more about our bikes from this board being here and having access to it than not.

LOL.... nothing's perfect. (Blake, I was laughing at me not you)

Aztec, I agree with you. I enjoy this site and come here every day and have learned much about my bike as well as other things related to riding. I don't post much, because I see so many people getting "corrected" for their misdoings. I just see things a bit differently about the advertising, that's all. I understand that this is Blake's site and appreciate all of his efforts to keep it clean and ethical. I read a review of the CityX a couple months ago in a motorcycle mag. They liked the bike and said many good things about it. However, there were no "Buell" advertisements in the magazine. That is why I find the rules on the BadWeb confusing, or at least unusual. But, like you said this isn't a democracy and it's not my site. I don't advertise or sell anything, I just ride. I was just sharing an opinion. I wouldn't expect Blake to listen to it(or be disappointed if he didn't), just felt the need to share it.

Chip,
Please do NOT presume to speak on behalf of this board. You don't know what you are talking about. Is there ANY venture that is run as a democracy? Even America is not run as a democracy. Please do tell who has been "booted" from this site? Do you even know? Thanks for the good intentions, but you really are not helping.

Chris (Moboy516),
A few people are confused and end up spreading misinformation like you have above. Here's the deal. AGAIN!!! (Yes I am irritated that once again I am having to refute this kind of complete bullshit!)

It is perfectly fine and in fact very much encouraged for BadWeBrs to talk about and discuss any manner of Buell related stuff on this board. That is what this board is for.

What is NOT okay is for a non-sponsor to come here and peddle his wares, especially after he has already been warned against doing so.

You apparently didn't see the other thread dealing with the same subject exhaust. Please review it at...

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/91285.html

Specifically my posts at...

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/92222.html#post369568

If you would bother to read the entire thread and my comments you would see that until Mr. Hughes commenced marketing his exhaust AGAIN (he originally did so back in April/May of '04), I and everyone else were perfectly fine with the discussion.

Because of the violations of non-sponsor board advertising by Mr. Hughes and also because of his blatantly disingenuous behavior in the past, I asked politely that discussion of the above mentioned exhaust, the product Mr. Hughes sought to peddle here, be ended until further notice. Again, I asked that for the protection of the board and to help ensure the integrity of the only source of support/funding for this board, the thousands of dollars contributed by sponsors.

The disingenuous and dishonest acts of Mr. Hughes and his refusal to abide by BadWeB's clearly stated policy and my simple and polite requests clearly subvert the integrity of the board and the value of sponsorship.

It is my task to protect the integrity of the board and rather than question me at every turn, how about simply supporting my efforts to do just that?

I deeply resent the mischaracterizations that you have seen fit to post about the policy and nature of this board. I am hopeful you now understand the issue fully and will support me and the other custodians here in our efforts to maintain/safeguard the integrity of this board.

Thanks for understanding.

I ask once again...

I know it's sometimes tough to put the wishes of others ahead of our own desires, but I am asking for that in this case based upon what I think is right, what is just, and what best serves the integrity of this board.

I am asking that all further discussion of the exhaust system in question die here and now until further notice.

There's a "fairly" subtle difference in threads where we "just talk" about items and one where a person who stands to make money off of said product starts talking up the product.

Lemme reference the first post in this thread as an example...

Hi
i am sorry i started all this fuss with this thread, but as i started it by asking for help from the other side of the world about something that has to do with my buell wish i think this forum is all about, i think i am entitled to an opinion: first, if it has to do with buell it must be allowed to, and open to discussion, other way the forum looses is main objective....... in what concerns selling activities i think the problem is that for custodians this activitys are too much in the open and even encouraged...... so in the end if you discuss the buying of the X product you are allowed but for other side if you discuss the buying of Y product you get warned not to........... that may endanger the forum..... i also belong to apriliaforum for a while and this kind of matters are dealth with a lot more diplomacy........ As you may understand i am from very far away, from a place that i hardly get some if any Buell support and everything i know from my bike came from this forum...... i even sometimes teached my local dealership..... so it is fundamental for me this place . i appologize again to dare an opinion as i accept it can ben a very misinformed one......... thanks

Blake,
Like I said before, wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers. No, I had not read the alternate exhaust thread, and for that I apologize. I would agree with you to try and stop people from peddling their wares on here without sponsorship. From now on, I will keep any opinions that I have to myself, although I still have them about the rules here.

It was never illegal or even a problem to talk about it. I merely asked that further discussion end until further notice. Apparently some people cannot abide by a simple polite request.

There you have it. Thank you Brant for pointing out that Trojan carries the exhaust in question. If you have any questions, give Matt at Adrenalin Moto/Trojan Horse a call.

What DJ said.......

The only thing I can say in defense of the TiForce price is that titanium is extremely expensive especially thin wall tubing. Its kind of a pain in the to work with too.

I made my frame sliders from titanium (leftover from jobs) but honestly I just did it for the bling value. There is some weight savings but a week or two on Atkins would probably knock off more.....

actually i think the gentleman was responding to my questions/ challenge.did not sound like he was peddling to me. Are not discussions concerning the relative merits of products from such manufacturers as Dunlop, Pirelli, NGK, Mobil-One,Ferodo,EBC,Fram, K&N,Vance&Hines,D&D,Harley-Davidson,Corbin,and PIAA sufficiently similar in nature to the most recently banned speech, as to render the forum effectively useless?
