Yesterday, I attempted to start my XB9SX. It was on a battery tender. I put the switch to run, turned the key to start, waited for the engine diagnostics light to go off, and hit the ignition. It ran for about 3 to 5 seconds and shut off. Is this normal in cold weather? It was about 30 degrees. I turned everything off, repeated the process, and it stayed running. Shouldn't the EFI prevent it from shutting off? Any thoughts? Thanks. | ||

Not to worry. Depending on the coolousity, that's not out of the question. I've noticed in the recent temps in NYC that the XB9SX has tried to tell me once or twice that it'd be wiser to remain by the fireplace. When that happens, give it a few seconds. Perform a relight. Be certain, once you spin the engine, regardless of what you decide to do, that you run the motor long enough to bring it to normal operating temp. Enjoy, Court | ||

I found when my idle was off it would be hard to start. Might want to wait for the engine to get warm once it's running and checking the idle. Other than that it's hard to say. | ||

My tps needs reset and my 12r will take three to four 30 second runs before she will idle on her own. I would not worry, remember it could be carburated and you could have to kick start it. |
