Just about to crack a 1k on my XB12S that I bought about three weeks ago. Love it! Very different from my previous bikes (a variety of Asian and a Harley). I can tell it's going to make me a better rider as it really seems to like a light touch without a lot of input, especially on the inside bar in a tight slow turn. I've really noticed is how counter-steering is very "apparent" on this bike. I seem to feel it much more than on other bikes. Guess I'll have to refine my usual "ham fisted" technique. I've been lurking and enjoying this site and hope I can contribute something meaningful in the future. Cheers in the New Year. Mike.

"Light Touch" in this case meaning: Think about a particular line and discover myself following it.

Half the time, I am not even aware there is a motorcycle beneath me, much less that I am counter steering.

I love my XB9SX!

Okay Mike, look in my Bio and email me. I live not more than 15 minutes from you. Can't believe that someone else in this neck of the woods bought a Buell, too cool!! Come out to the house, I got a cold one waiting on ya!!
There is another Buell owner in Aberdeen, just bought his 2000 X1, don't know if he is riding right now or not.

Oh yea- welcome to the madness!!

Hey Mike,

Glad to see you made it over here. This is the best Buell discussion site on the net.

BTW, these guys are cool- it's OK to say "Ascot".

I went thru Southern Pines on Tuesday (in a cage) and kept an eye out for an XB12 but I figured it was a little too cold and snowy to see you out riding.

Hugh

You are REALLY love that XB thing even more with additional seat time, I'll even go so far as to say you'll probably find it addictive, as most of us here do. Have fun and hang on, it's too late for anything else now!
