Any other bulletin board I've ever been on would have the members running off copoyoly for not speaking English. That's very cool that he was treated with as much respect as anyone else.

Fireballsocal: is true. when i posted my first post, i thought that anybody answer me. I was wrong. This board is fantastic, but is very dificult to me. I am a buell fan, but in my country is not easy to take information about it.

Cataract2 : Im from Spain. From Gijon (Asturias), in the north coast. No buells here for the moment. i think in Febrero one buell en Gijon. My xb12r (if my wife dont break my dream : )

Now i have a monster 750 and i think is a bit littel bike for me.

Saludos a todos have a good day and sorry for me english.

>>>>sorry for me english.

Copolyoly:

No need to be sorry. An interesting thing has happened over the past 10 years since I have been participating in Buell online activitities...the world has gotten smaller.

In the "old days" our cultures, thoughts and lives were separated by oceans. Long distance phone calls were the domain of the wealthy. This has all changed and the change is good.

Buell Motorcycles have tremendous international appeal. In the "old days of Buell" Japan played a key role. In the new days, South America figures as strongly as South Dakota.

Barriers have eroded and given way to the exchange of information. This is good for all of us.

Several years ago, after a ride to the famous Guggenheim Motorcycle exhibit, we ended up with 5 of my riding friends here at the house. Of the 5, there were 9 languages spoken fluently. Times have changed, for the better.

Several years ago we started TEAM ELVES and if memory serves we have people from about 9 countries. We even have Australians which are a lot like real people.

No one will ever take you to task for speaking your native tongue here. Although I can't be of must help, we have folks who will translate and we are, regardless of how we may appear, a patient and inclusive group.

We NEED your input and the language barrier is a small one.

Welcome my friend.

What Court said.
Welcome!
Post how you want, and how you feel comfortable.
We'll figure it out.
Most all of us like figuring things out.

The Monster is a cool bike, sounds very very badass and looks good too.

Ditto the XB.

One thing in favor for the XB, service reqs. No valve adjustments,no chain lube, no carb adjustments, etc. Very easy and cheap bike to maintain. GREAT gas mileage too!

They are both great bikes but the Ducati's are inexpensive to own but expensive to maintain. Also, you mentioned the Monster S4R and it has the 4-valve 996 Desmo that has to have valve adustments every 6k miles that average $800 each visit.

Anyway, I love Ducatis but I can afford the Buell but both are awesome naked motorcycles. Whichever you decide on, enjoy...

Duc S4R $22,500AUD or there abouts.

Buell XB12R $18,000AUD or there abouts.

Depends where you live, I guess.

Hello, i am new on this site and live in The Netherlands.
I owned 2 ducaties'' 1 748r and a monster 1000 sie a 2003 model. today a xb9sx
the big differences between a duc monster and a xb are:
riding position of buell much better!
steering is faster and easier with xb
xb smoother engine, riding in the city is nicer because of low torque etc.
although the duc engine is much faster end has enormous power!! the model is a bit old and i think has to be restyled.
brakes of the duc can be better with hydrolic brake system.
now i ride the sx (only 200 km) but so far more fun in riding around the city. for fast highway i recommend the more stable ridding of the duc.
the most important difference is the riding position, if you are small , no problem with the duc.....both good choices!!

Hmm. Hoeveel Nielsen zouden er in Den Haag wonen die motor rijden?

Ik ken er nu in ieder geval twee, tenzij jij die ene ben die ik al ken ... maar die zou denk ik geen nieuwe buell kopen.

Happy New Year to you too!

Here's an American media shootout--interesting, although they say the Ducati is a better bike, the writer says he'd rather own the Buell...

There are a couple other Buell reviews on this site, and they placed the XB12S in 2nd place for "Best Standard" in their 2004 roundup (the Multistrada got top place).
