I am a long time member of this forum starting back in 2018 when I had my 2001 M2 Cyclone. I sold it to buy other bikes and fund other projects. I do regret that decision.

Currently I am down to only one motorcycle, my 1974 Norton Commando. I have a serious desire for a Buell XB version and I wonder if I am crazy? My experience with the M2 led me to the conclusion that it was fast, comfortable, handled like it was on rails, heavy and built more like a prototype than a production bike. It was just rough around the edges with captive bolts and other little design elements that seem to have been missed before production.

The XBs look more refined but reading forum posts even these seem to suffer for development issues and sporadic changes from year to year.

I think my biggest issue is a creeping suspicion that they have no value. You have to be crazy, like me, to even want one. Most people don't know what they are and you can't really own one without having your own private service bay and tools. (Harley washed their hand of them years ago.)

I keep seeing the same ads for the same Buells and they never move. I do not want to get stuck with a bike I can't even give away. My Norton is already a bit like this but unlike the Buell the interest in keeping and riding Nortons is still pretty high. I can get many OEM parts for that bike and quite a few parts are being manufactured better than new. The Buell forums seem like a ghost town. Am I crazy for even considering a Buell?

Still a bunch of folks out there with turbers and XB's, I had a nice S-3 and an XB on the dyno in the last couple of weeks, did a quick TPS reset and check of the adaptive area in the map of a Uly thursday. Lots of activity in the Buell forums on Facebook, more so than here, I only glance here every so often anymore----

well, call me crazy then.
XB12R and XB9S.
Still the first rides of the year over the rest in the stable. I find they are the easiest to shake the winter rust off the riding skills.

I'll keep looking. There are a couple in my price range in in my area. There is 2004 Buell XB9R that is cosmetically challenged (I can deal with that) but I was kind of hoping for an "S" model due to the ride position. I am in no hurry to buy.
