Are the Exhaust Valve Actuators compatible from 2004 to 2008 model years? (SO138.1AAA vs. SO138.2AAA) | ||

All of them compatible, but until 2009 or so they had plastic gears which inevitably fail. The latest version had metal gears and are much more durable. The actuator itself is the same as one used on some late model Mustangs. The Buell factory part was ~$150; a Dorman version of the Mustang part is $50. You do have to cut the cable quadrant off of the OEM part and TIG weld it to the shaft on the Mustang part. This text and photos were borrowed from the BuellXB forum:

Furbaby, Per another thread here the actuator is either on or off. As a basic switch I'd be comfortable trying whatever part was available on my bike... looks like the newest pn is S1138.1AA I have a working S0138.2AA, if that's the part you're looking for, lmk. -Mike |
