I did several trackdays on my XB9R last summer and really enjoyed myself once I got it set up right. I ran the standard 207s and they held up pretty well except the front turned really blue at the edges. Everything seemed fine until the last trackday when half way through lap four of the first session I binned it on the entry to a fast left hander. No previous warning, no slides, no chattering nothing. I realise the 207s are not ideal for track use but shouldn't there have been some warning before they let go? I still don't know what happened but I had fitted a new pipe and the throttle is inclined to overun when you close it....maybe the tyres aren't the problem? Any thoughts?

The 207's were notorious for not giving any warning before they started to slide. It is one of the reasons so many swapped them out for Diablos/Sportecs or Pilots.
