Just noticed my 04 12R has a leak...coating the exhaust. It is leaking from what looks like a sensor located in the front of the bike. Has anyone experienced this? Sorry for the lack of detail, this is my first Buell...
I am thinking i can just replace the part rather than wait on the dealer. Just put some new tires on and want to get it on the road!

Maybe from your oil pressure sensor? Could be from the oil line fitting at the front as well. Finally, some bikes don't have the spacer clamp that keeps the 2 oil lines from rubbing.

Clean everything well, go for a very short, slow ride. Then check again. If you go fast, the wind blast will likely splatter any oil seepage all over the place and you're back to square one.

I've heard of spraying foot powder or similar in the area (after cleaning of course) to quickly reveal where the oil may be coming from.

Others will chime in with more/better info.
Hope this helps.
