Just got off the phone with the bank and the dealer (Harley Davidson of the Woodlands) and everything is all set up for me to pick up my new XB9SX tomorrow! I'm so friggin stoked! I think I'm even more excited than when I got my Harley! I am of course very sad to be trading in the 1 year old Dyna Wide Glide. We've covered a LOT of great miles together and seen a lot of our beautiful country, but alas, I think she understands though-the wife wants kids! I gotta be glad that at least she's lettin me keep a bike at all! hahaha

I have to say thanks to DaveS-You've been great Dave-no one was able to make me as good a deal as Dave was on a new bike, but distance and time played a role in my decision to purchase locally. For anyone looking to buy a new bike in Houston-The Woodlands HD/Buell is a great dealership! Dave-I'll be calling you shortly for some parts!!!

I won't be postin much this weekend...I'll Buellin!!! Yahooo...ok...need to put down the crack pipe! This has just been a really great week for me-I quit smoking Sunday (using the patch) and that is going really well-I traded in my expensive truck on a less expensive truck, and I actually like the cheaper one better, and tomorrow I'm trading in the more expensive Harley on the Buell-and I don't have any doubt that I will like the Buell more than the Harley...the Buell just puts it to shame!!!!

Thanks for listening ya'll!

Ride safe,
Nick

Glad to see another 9SX owner here. I've been enjoying mine for a month now and have 1900 miles on it. Wish I could ride it this weekend but alas, I must work.

Breakin is killer, but any riding is good riding! If you are up north, you will really appreciate the hand wind guards.

Why don't you do the deal, where you fly out to the factory and pick it up? Sounds like it diffenitly would be worth it, even just to get the assembly, and setup fees waved?

I just picked up my XB9SX on Saturday and I love it. I too had a HD. It was a 2002 XL1200, and there was no comparison when I rented the 9SX in September. Enjoy it. I guarantee that you will.

Too funny. You've given away the plot of the story I am writing this weekend.

Congratualations on your bike and tune in later tonight/tomorrow on the "Court Channel" for the next installment in my Buell CityX Love Affair...entitled "Choose Wisely".

Ride safe, lean much, smile more,

Congrats! I am in the process of trying to get two of my friends into getting the very same bike. One I've got for sure the other needs to see if he can afford it. Then maybe I wont be the only one in this town with a Buell. I will continue to spread the word.

WOW!

That sums it up pretty good I think. I picked up my bike around 3pm on Saturday afternoon and putted around on the roads around that part of town...then I took the feeder road (service road-on the side of the freeway) which has a lower speed limit the rest of the way home.

Overall I'm really happy. The bike is great. I'm more than happy with the power of the 9. I think that was my big concern going into this. My knees are going to need some time to get used to that riding position though!! Sunday I went out for several rides around town. I find the best way for me to keep my speed below the 55mph & 3k RPM's dictated by the higher powers is to stay on mostly small side roads.

I have to say last night temptation got the best of me and I wound it out a bit up to maybe 5k RPM's. ohhhhhh yeahhhhh baby. That's what I'm talkin about! This bike is going to be to damn much fun! And turning is actually fun too-unlike on my Wide glide-this thing leans over and away we go! I find the throttle is pretty sensitive though and it's kinda hard to roll on the throttle smoothly. I think I will adjust the throttle cables just a hair to put a little more play in the grip. That should do it. But I noticed I can get on the throttle pretty early. WOW! Just lots of good fun!

As far as wind goes on the freeway-at 60 mph it's hardly anything-feels much better than it did being buffeted behind my windshield on my Dyna...

Anyhow-Joele-do we have enough folks in Houston to start our own CityX group?!?!?! hahaha I think I'm going to take that advanced riders class up at Mancuso just like you did in a couple of weeks. Give myself a little bit of time to get to know my bike first. Wanna go fer a ride sometime???

This thing has got so much character. It almost "snorts" or grunts when you get on it hard-almost like it's talkin to me...ok back to work...

Your newest Buell adict,
Nick

PS - BRAG will send you a gift certificate for 50 bucks if you take your motorcycle safety class - they also include a metal pen and a patch.

Whistle- please dont play with the slack in the throttle until you have had the bike for a while longer, I think you will find that you get used to the sensitive throttle and it will make you a better rider!

Shawn-Thanks for the tip...I'll leave it be for a while.

Joel & Mike I'd greatly much enjoy makin a run with ya'll! In fact I just got back in for a ride. 9pm here right now...pretty fricken windy and cold, but man that little bike has GREAT wind protection!

I've been reading here about how folks are saying the XB's are flickable. Shux, they're more flickable than a paper football!!! I was playing around and ended up weaving between the dashes on the road! No way I could EVER do that on the Harley!!! I was grinnin like a fool! And since it was so cold, my grin is sorta stuck on my face! ha! I can't get enough of this bike. I told the wife I was going for a spin around the neighborhood and ended up doin 40 miles like nothing... :-)

If you guys haven't read about Court's ride on the new CityX, you should. He's on the fricken money. I'm not nearly as eloquent as he is, but gosh darn it's a cool bike!!! The more I lean the more I smile! ooooooooooOOOO!!!!!!!

later,
Nick

I think that is probably the most overlooked secret of the 9sx. It consistently amazes me as well.

Court-at my rate I'm going to need knee sliders soon! This whole sportbike thing is amazing fun!

Reep-It's funny ya know-you look at the bike and say "wow, it must be tought to ride when it's windy and riding around without any fairing and all must really tire you out!"

But it really does great in the wind-Mike_Bolts and Joele know that it's been pretty windy here the last couple of days-and dare I say my Buell has been a LOT easier to ride in the wind than my Harley ever was and a lot easier than I thought as well. My hands are protected by the silly little handguards and my legs are protected by the bike...my upper torso is totally exposed but my leather jacket seems to just slice right through the wind?!?!?!

The only cold place is my ankles! I need some loooooonggggg pants so the portion right above my boots is covered. Other than that this bike is amazing!

I think during the warmer months I will detach the handguards to provide more airflow up my sleeves, but right now you couldn't PAY ME to take 'em off!

wooo hooo!!!!! BUELL ON BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Praise the Lord I've seen the light!!

uhh, yeah!

leaning LOTS and smiling too much,
Nick

Man Im happy for you
I pick mine up the 21st DEC I CAN'T WAIT
Only bad thing is Germany is cover with ice and snow is in the forecast. Do they make snow tires?
Well I guess it is better to have a cityX and not be able to ride than not have one at all. Now instead of looking at pic's I can go set on it and dream.
GOOD STUFF

Obd-You will find that while not quite as rewarding as actually RIDING the bike, sitting on the bike in the garage and saying "vroom vroom" will actually help to some extent. This situation is very difficult to explain to all but the most understanding of riders, so do not in your moment of imaginative jubilation allow anyone to witness said event.

Whistle and Joele (or anybody else in Houston), my old man rides a BMW and we plan on going to ride with the BMW club on Sunday morning (December 19). Anyone care to join us? They meet at the Dennys at 1960 and 290 (near Mancuso) at 8:00 AM and take off from there. Pop says they have no problems with bikes other than Beemers so we should be welcome. Let me know!
