Hey All,

I used to frequent the forum quite a bit back in 2009-2011 when I was in college and had just gotten by XB12r. I eventually got a micron exhaust for it, but not long after that some personal stuff came up and the bikes just been sitting in my parents garage for 8 years.

I'm looking to sell the bike, but I'm wondering if I should sell the micron exhaust separate or just leave it on the bike. I remember back when I got it it was a nice exhaust and on the higher end. I'm wondering if they still hold any value that would be worth it to sell it on it's own.

Also, who knows if the person I sell the bike to will really know or care that much about the type of exhaust, so if I can sell the exhaust separate, to someone in the Buell community that seems like a plus to me. Not sure how easy it is to get parts like this for Buells these days.

Let me know if there is a better place to post this. Or if I'm just completely overthinking this. Thanks!

You will always get more money for selling parts then a stock bike than a modded bike. You can still find people paying near a grand for a mint Micron, which is like a third of what your typical XB is worth.

If time you will spend swapping exhaust and reprogramming ECM will cost less than exhaust then sell it separately.

If this exhaust would be on my motorcycle I wouldn't bother with wrenching it because of my time costs more than the exhaust.

The most valuable way to spend time selling your stuff is to clean it.

Thanks for the responses.

So, I probably should have mentioned that I never actually got the ECM reprogrammed or whatever. Like I said the bike got "put up" right after I got the exhaust installed and never did get that done.

Kind of another reason I was thinking about switching them out to make selling the bike a bit easier.
