hello: currently i own a blast, but i am entertaining the thought of moving up for some more of everything. i have a used xb in mind, but am hesitant about the size difference. i am 5'1, and on the 99 i am looking at, i am unable to even put my tip toe down. i have heard there is a lowering kit, and corbin seat that will take it down an inch or two. i was wondering if anyone has a cheaper lowering bracket for sale, or better suggestions.... thanks for the help

Woah, if you are looking at a 1999 model it is not an XB. The XB line was introduced as a 2003 model.

You may want to clarify what the bike is for sure, and that will help for people here to give you some ideas. Different models will have different options.

My wife is 5'3" and when she sat on the XB9s low model, it was still way taller than her blast with the low seat. She thought it was too tall for her to ride.

Find a XB9SL and chop up the seat or you can purchase a used XB9S and get the forks and rear shock from a XB9SL and chop up the seat. That would be the correct way to do it and it is not all that costly. You could also try to "RIG" it but that's not the better suggestion.

The Corbin seat, since it is wider than stock, does not lower the riding position. Just thought I would let you know. I have heard of people asking Corbin to remove some of the padding to lower the seat though.

We can supply a shorter shock for the XB, but you would have problems unless you lowered the front by the same amount. This isn't so much a problem on the R models, but the S presents difficulties because of the bar arrangement.

Why not just tune the t*ts off the Blast: )

if your inseam is close to 28.6" the new cg will suit you fine, I do believe the 9SL is the same height. We just swapped a XB9R with a XB9SL suspension and it sits much lower but still higher becuase of the seat. some pics. are in the archives.

i have read a few articles on the cg, and am very interested in it... just dont have the extra cash flow right now! thanks for the advice.

Some friends of mine had the "wrong" suspension.
Fran had a Low.
Rebecca had the standard.
Fran wanted what Rebecca had, and vice versa.
Here's what they did.
