As seen on the Gizmo.com.au website, Buell in Australia has produced a one-off, GOLD plated Buell Lighting motorcycle !! The XB9S motorcycle's tank and fenders have received a 9 carat gold paint job, while the rest of the metal has been nickel plated. The saddle has been made of deer suede ! No price has been announced (if you've gotta ask, you can't afford it), but I'm wondering how much the insurance is going to be ??  | ||

How much??? Twice RRP. They had it at the bike show in Sydney with the cost of all the upgrades. | ||

I think it is really cool. How difficult/expensive is it to plate plastic parts? I'm thinking it's not too big a deal nor very expensive. All the metal polishing though could be time consuming and thus expensive. | ||

The plastic is not really "plated" with gold, thats what the paint color is called. If you get up close to it you would see and in my opinion the paint made it look tacky. The nickel plating......well that is just breath taking. | ||

Blake go price plating plastic.You might be surprised to find out that it is more expensive to plate then aluminum,like almost double. |
