Whats a good tire for colder temps? I'm talkin normal street commuting, temps above freezing. My bike has the Dunlop D207 ( stock front , 6K miles, RR on rear, 1K miles )and feels like I'm riding on marbles for the first few miles, even worse after they cooled back down ( after a fuel stop )

And I quote one of the BrewCitybrag members...
"I've never met a Dunlop that stuck in the cold".
He was running on Metzler Z6 front, and Z4 rear on his S3T.

I agree Dunlops seem to suck in the cold.

I have had my Pirelli Diablos out in the upper 30's & so far they have stuck fine even when cold & thats on my R1.

I agree that both my 207's & the 205's I had on my X1 felt rather loose & the front felt a lot worse than the rear to me. That was in the 20-40 degree range. Anything above upper 40's & I didnt seem to have any issues with them.

1 other thing, the Dunlops I run on my Dyna tend to get a bit slippery when its cold out. Or maybe that was just the 18" of snow on the ground causing the problems? And no im not kidding about that.

Starting my second winter on Diablos here, much better than the Dunlops.

I do drop my tire pressure 2-4 lbs this time of year since most of my rides are considerably shorter than usual and it helps them heat up quicker.

D220's are downright hazardous. The new Scorpians seem reasonably sticky, 32 F is the coldest I have ridden them so far. Didn't push them though, but they were clearly better then the D220's.

Guess that's a reason to like Florida right now. Besides the fact we get 365 riding days.

Only problem are the roads here on the coast.

I agree that the Dunlops suck in the cold. Second gear burnouts at 30 mph are interesting. The Pirelli Corsas on my dad's Duc seem to work real well though.

The Scorp Syncs on the CityX seems good in the cold. I lean in hard and gas it within about 2 mins of setting off at < 5C. Not sensible but no bother (yet!).

Only thing they had to do then was role it out in the drive, start it up and enjoy the 110 mph winds. , hope they had their helmets and leathers on for all the flying objects.}}

i am running the same tires in the winter as in the summer Michelin Pilots. Keep in mind i am not aggressive at all in the cold weather but i have been testing them out a bit to see how well they stick afte about 10 minutes of riding.

they stick good i guess
