Having tried out an LED headlight for my sporty, and being pleasantly surprised & happy with it - it begs the question, has anyone tried an LED "bulb" in our stock Firebolt housing?
If so, how is the spread? Does it illuminate properly and evenly?
I loved my HID but gave up on them because it fought with the fuel pump on startup and I'd gone through enough effort to wire it, I did not feel like chasing after a delay circuit...

The difference in driving my RX (OEM LED light) and my XB (aftermarket HID) at 4:30am, is like...well, night and day, no real pun intended.
I've adjusted, messed with the RX's light to get it as good as it can be and I'm still not happy with it.
My XB12s on the other hand, the previous owners installation left a LOT to be desired (and I've attempted to somewhat fix), but the way the HID works is great. It actually lights the road in front of me, not just a "glow" like the LED puts out.
The speed capability of the RX will very easily overdrive its LED. If the HID was on the RX, I would have a hard time over driving the lit-up highway.
Yea, every now and again the HID will go out for some reason during an engine start. I assume it's because of the starters power draw (the fuel pump doesn't draw enough power to kill the headlite). If cold, I let the engine run a coupla minutes, shut it off, restart and drive away. The HID "no-lite" has never done a "no-lite" twice. It's never done a "no-lite" with the engine previously warm.

You can buy simple delay relays, not very expensive.

1_Mike, the HIDs on my truck do the same thing; I usually flash the high beams to get them to come on.
