Where is the ECM located? I lost my manual and I need to remove the race ecm and pop a stock in there... Any tips on removal appreciated.

I assume your talking about an XB model...

The ECM is located under the seat immediately behind the battery. Pull the modular plugs out of the ECM. I have two large multiconnector plugs and a single wire plug between them on mine. It is a little tight, but you can loosen the two bolts holding the ECM in place without removing the battery and wriggle the ECM out. You'll probably need an open end or box end wrench for this...forgot the size. Simply reverse the procedure for the install.

I'm guessing the engine shouldn't be running, nor the ignition switch be on when you do this.

Hopefully this will at least get you started until someone with more specific instructions shows up.

He's got an R. It's in the fairing somewhere.

above the headlights behind the fairing. Remove the indicators, mirrors, then the 2 bottom bolts from the windscreen abd the plastic should easily lift off. Then htere will be a couple of 10mm bolts holding the ECM in.

On the XB9R:
The Headlight Assembly must be removed in order to unplug the ECM. Loosen the bolts on both sides and pull it forward. No need to completely remove the bolts as the Headlight Assembly is mounted in slots.
Replaced my stock ECM last Thursday night.
