We were having a natter, and someone raised the (not so) new technolgy with the crash jackets, you know, the ones that are like a tin toppers air bag, but you wear it.

Now I know they have safe guards so they don't accidentally go off, but we were having a laugh, and I figured it'd make a great scenario, you know, at the local shopping center car park, dude pulls up looking infinately cool in his crash jacket, shuts down bike, swings leg off bike, forgets to remove lanyard and POOF!!! the jacket and pants set goes off and he is left flailing about on his back like a stranded michelin man!!!

Or, Dude is hanging off, riding hard through some hilly terain, looses control, lanyard activates air bag suit, dude goes bouncing down the hillside like someone strapped into a Zorb Ball... AAAhhhhhh.....

Lastly, you know how you ride up to your mate at a traffic light, lean over and hit the kill switch, just for a laugh?? Well, imagine your mate has a bright new shiny self deploying Zorb Ball Air Bag Jacket, you roll up to the traffic light, lean over and....

DETACH HIS LANYARD!!! At which point his suit goes POOF!! and he (once again) ends up looking like the michelin man... Hillarious.:-))

Disclaimer: I an fully aware none of these imaginary (but funny) scenarios would actually occur as described.

those crash jackets are amazing, but they still have limitations (like the $2500 price). On the good side, they can be reused ...

Kinda looks like the float coats that the Navy makes us wear when we go aboard ships...LOL

Think I'll incorporate my float coat into my leathers, then I won't have to worry about drowning if I crash my bike.

I really think they are cool! But, I once wore a white Microsoft VB.NET shirt to Sturgis. My biker buddies freaked out and told me to put on a black shirt. So I broke out my black Visual InterDev shirt...They bought me a shirt. Sad.
