Does anyone know if Buell has sent out some sort of bulletin that corrects step 11 on page 1-48 of the xb9r service manual?

Some dealer claimed to have received this, and it should correct the 5.2-5.6 degrees angle to 5.8 degrees in the TPS reset instructions.

If anyone has a 2004/2005 service manual, can you check what your manual says?

Thanx!

The TPS should be set at 5.8

it is not terribly relevant. just establishes an approximate idle postion for the throttle plate, that is a default position likely to start and run, after which the idle can be set by RPM when engine is warm.

Mine is set at 4.9 degrees after adjusting the idle.

Mine was set at 3.4 and they said it was the lowest they had seen. What does this mean .....is it a bad thing? it runs great, but im interested at what they are talking about.

Yeah, it seems that in most cases you need to turn your idle screw out after the procedure, so in the end your tps should read less than the specified 5.2-5.6.

That's why I wonder why that dealer insisted it was 5.8, as instructed by Buell. It's nonsense I know, but if his bulletin was real (I didn't see it) I just like to know about it that's all.
