I bought my bike at Austin HD Buell. The sales guys are great. The service department is hit and miss depending on who is at the counter. The service manager can be a real pain. I won't take my bike back to them because of the service managers crappy attitude. You might have better luck with Central Texas Harley. They should be closer to you as well.

I could bring one to Dallas when I'm there for the dealer meeting in January?

There’s a dealer meeting in Dallas! Is that a Buell dealer meeting? Is there any riding events scheduled at the meeting?

The Gaylord is in the City of Grapevine. It’s freakin huge. Has a very large atrium. I went to the Honda Wing Ding there in July. You should take Penny, she’ll love it.

central tx h-d dont carry buells. that would bee an awsome offer dave ad i would exept it but i dont get home till late feb early march. and about austin h-d im not concered with the service guys cuz i would probly take it to bell county since its right up the road from my house and besides that i will probly be moving shortly after i get back from iraq anyway. If the sales guys at austin hd are good then i stick with them unless dave could get me on in the time frame of when im coming home.

FireBolt, I bought my 12R at Bell County in Harker Heights. I had emailed them with no response. I called and they had what I wanted and they seemed easy to deal with. I dealt with an older guy who was semi retired. I live in Arlington and haven't been back except for their open house to see Bubba...

Central Texas sold Buells when I was in there 3 months ago. They even had a couple of custom painted xb's.

Firebolt...

I live in Killeen, too. I've got plenty to say about Bell Co. H-D... First, there are two Bell Co. H-d's. one shop in Killeen/Harker Heights, the other in Belton, which is just south on I-35. Both carried Buell last I looked, but I've been in Iraq for about 8 months.

Now, on to the good stuff.

I was shopping for my Buell a couple years ago, and went to the Killeen location. I stood in the showroom for about 25 minutes, staring at the Firebolt. No customers but me were in the showroom, and none of the salesmen looked busy with anything. Then, I finally go to a salesman's office and ask about the Buell, and about their testride program, because I knew Buell has an aggressive one.

The salesman told me that they need an approved credit application, AND A DOWNPAYMENT (they would wait for the check to clear if I used one) before we could talk about a testride.

Disgusted yet?...

I was, so I left and looked on the internet, finding Barnett's in El Paso advertised as the world's largest H-D/Buell dealer. Their site gave the impression that they WANTED business (imagine that) and would do whatever necessary to get it, so I gave them a call.

This was when the XB's were just being released, so I was happy with their offer of list price, and FREE DELIVERY TO KILLEEN, TEXAS. All the financing, licensing, etc, was handled with the minimum hassle, and they sent me 5 or 6 free t-shirts with the bike.

But that's not the end of the story with Bell Co. H-D...

I go in to Bell Co. H-D for some Buell gloves, oil filter, etc, and a couple really moronic-looking guys start giving me the 3rd degree in the parking lot AFTER I BOUGHT THE STUFF I WAS AFTER, asking me where I bought the bike, how much did I pay, and generally giving me a really negative vibe.

I get home to do the oil change, drain the oil, and I see that the oil filter is the wrong one. I call the dealer, and get no apology, nothing. I drive my car down and they exchange it for me, no apology whatsoever. Another time, I go screeching up to the door for an oil filter, RIGHT AT 6:00(closing time). I trot up to the door with my wallet in hand, and it's locked, so I knock and wave my wallet. They look at me and go back to talking.

I've replaced belts there 3 times, the last 2 out of warranty. The last time, I break one doing wheelies in an industrial park on a Saturday afternoon. I walk to a phone and call Bell Co. H-D and ask if they have one in stock(yes), and beg them to bring me one. I'm about 4 miles away, and they say no. I offer to wait until they close, maybe someone can bring it on their way home, again, no. I call a cab and pay for a ride to Autozone to get the tools, to the dealer, then back to my bike.

These people know me because my XBR is polished and very distinctive with open pipes, and I have come to their Christmas toy run, and other stuff, blah, blah... and no one has ever, EVER done anything more than absolutely necessary to help me, even after spending a few hundred bucks there.

The service Dept is not as bad as the people in and around the showroom, though they left the two pinch bolts on the fork dangling loose after the bearing swap(warranty).

The Whole crew at the Belton shop seems a lot better, and the two locations in Austin are better, still, with the south location seeming very good when they did my speedo fix(warranty).

Stay away from the Killeen store. They f*cking suck.

thanks for the advise big sherm and glad to know theres another fellow bueller here in iraq with me and in cav. i have been in contact with with austin h-d and they have really been working with me pretty well as for as trying to have me the bike i want, in the time frame i want it in. i have also had the same cold sholder given to me from the harker hieghts dealership when i was shopping for my first firebolt. they insisted on trying to put me on a lightning though i told them that i specifily wanted a firebolt and also told the same dumb spill about test riding one. they also told me the first time i went in even if i bought my bike from them the only way i could take it home was on a trailer unless i got my motorcycle indorsment first which was i guess understanable though i had no bike to take the test on and had no truck or trailer at the time.
