Just wondering as I have never had a bike with FI but I have used Carb Cleaner (like B12/STP/etc) in my carburated hot rods and bikes with good results...the cars seem to run better if a good amount is put into a full tank and then drive without stopping until it is time to fill up again. Is using Fuel Injector cleaner a good idea on a bike such as our XB's? Obviously less of the stuff would be used but am wondering with the lined gas tank and other things if damage could occur... |

I'd often wondered that myself, so I contacted the stealership not long after I bought the bike. The tech said to use no additives. I'm sure this could be argued till a few of us are blue in the face. |

It depends upon what the lining is...along with the injectors themselves. I don't know the specifics on this but I know the cleaner chemicals are not good for some plastics... |

If I'm not mistaken, the owners manual suggests strongly against using fuel additives. I believe that is what I read, but I could be mistaken. Rich |

I run Chevron gas in my XB. It has a cleaner in it, Techron, which I have had great success with. |

mine runs good on gasoline. i have seen gasoline used as a parts cleaning compound before, rather unpleasant stuff to work with, but a very effective solvent. i would be reluctant to risk screwing up a good running motorcycle experimenting with fuel additives. |

With winter coming, what about stabilizer? |

ya ,most gas is loaded with detergents, so cleaners shouldnt be needed. The owners manual recommends stabilizer for extended storage. |
