Well today was one few days midwest was like winter. I bought my XB12R Wed drove home at recommend breakin. Put 35 mile on to get home. Weather start get bad was little mad about.Today it was sunny but cold try let warm to go to church took little bit time. Well notice when Came to a stop check engine came on. Oh !!! Check oil it ok idle bouncing 1000 to 1500 rpm. ROad to church was going to show off to a friend to cold for me go up north. I got home it still doing same thing not as bad as before. I pull garage gas light comes,I told my wife go fill it before I take it to the dealer to see what problem is.
It stop doing the craze I was so happen was idle good. I'm take it again see if reoccur again.
Could it have been bad gas ??

My bike has full XB pro series package on it.

Is this just part of breakin time?

No it's not.
Do you have the service manual yet? If it happens again (engine light) you can check to see what the code is telling you.
May be something as simple you got a bike with a weak battery, then of course it may be something else.

Hmm. Doesn't sound right at all. Engine light should not come up and idle should not be bouncing.

Have you been at the dealer yet? I'm curious to hear what the problem was. Is it fixed?

Pro series, does that include the race pipe? Because if not a faulty servo motor will cause exactly what your saying.

My new xb12r is running rough as well, no engine light yet though. When I first start it up the tach needle is bouncing up and down and the bike stalls if I don't keep the throttle revving. After it warms up though that goes away, but it smells like its running rich. Could that just be that the injection needs to be adjusted ?? Also when I start it, the injector sounds like it's screaming (loud noise) anyone else have this problem ? the bike only has 82 miles on it.

i bet your dealer changed your oxygen sensor with out telling you; ) once youve had one of these xb's apart and get 2 look at it you will see its almost a given that some time (more sooner than later) the damn o2 sensor wire will ground out

Well, I found out what the problem with mine was. It was the TPS (throttle posistioning sensor) and there is s recall out for it. The servicing dealer needs to zero out the TPS, which i'm guessing re sets it ?? I just have to go get it now.

Ok got mu bike today run great. Mechanic stated the E.T. sensor was loose. Reset the AFV, ozero and reset TP and performed a AFV. They need the bike to learn the function. He had to call Buell to solve the problem. It all good now.
