Since it was only 37 degrees when I woke up this morning, that is 5 degrees above freezing, I chose to ride the Buell to work.

I came to the conclusion I need more electric heated equipment.

I just found out about these types of handlebar heaters from past archived messages from Roc.

Looks like they are running $31, oh well, if you can find em cheaper let us all know!

I got some Oxford Hot Hands here in the UK (from eBay) for £22. They wrap around the existing grips. I've tested them on another bike and they get really warm, well worth it.

Get Gerbing heated gloves, they're way better. Heated handgrips heat the inside of your hands but the outside is still exposed to the cold wind. The hotter you turn them up, the more your palms sweat and then the moisture gets cold on the topside.

It's more expensive option, but after many years of snobmobiling with heated grips and the problem described above, the Gerbings are awesome for motorcycling. Now I just need the heated jacket liner to complete my cold weather riding gear to keep the core temp up.

www.gerbing.com or you can find them on eBay occasionally

kimpex grip heaters work pretty well. retail about $24 the pair. come with a switch, and a resistor for a low heat option. had them on my XB for one year/ 10,000 miles. no problems.

I HAD HEATED HAND GRIPS ON MY XB9S. I BOUGHT A SET DESIGNED FOR A ATV. THEY ARE INSTALLED ON THE BARS AND YOU PUT YOUR GRIPS OVER THEM. HI-OFF-LOW SWITCH, WIRING, TWO HEATING ELEMENTS FOR LIKE $25.00. CHEAP AND TOASTY

Oxford Sports Hot Hands work great and are simple to install - velcro pads that wrap around the grips. I rode with them all last winter and they kept my hands toasty. I just put them back on a couple of days ago as the weather has started dipping down into the low 50's during my morning commute.
