Hey fellow XB riders, I just got back from UNC-after receiving a new Kidney! I was on the list for 6 years and Dialysis for 11. Doc says I can't ride for three months and that puts smack dab in the middle winter.
But that also means that I can start on some projects!! I will check back daily as I always do. Havn't met anybody from the site yet, but feel at home here. Say a prayer,, Thanks JIM

I wish you a speedy recovery and congratulations.

My uncle was on dialysis for a number of years so I have a little in-site into what an awful experience that is. I am glad to hear of your good fortune in getting a suitable donor.

Good news. Lets just hope they sort out your meds and the next couple of months are OK. I'm in the process of donating my kidney to my brother. Should happen next month if he can successfully complete his treatments. He's been on dialysis for 20 years now so is pretty keen on a kidney. Good luck in the future and I hope it all works out.

Congratulations Jim! We'll pray this goes well for you. I've been on Methotrexate, Imuran, Cellcept and Prednisone at different times over the last 8 1/2 years. They use some of these for transplant patients (especially Cellcept). I'm now med free 1 1/2 years with my rheumatic disease . Shoot me an e-mail if you have any questions about life on those meds. Be well and God Bless.
