Having an on again off again problem with my 04 12S. Bike runs fine while running, after I get to where I'm going and its nice and hot(even if only 7 miles of riding hard), it won't start after about 3-5 minutes of sitting (will crank and prime pump). If I try right after I shut it off it starts fine. Let it cool for about 20 minutes and it fires up.
Originally tested it as a coil problem, coil was just passed allowable parameters, so I just replaced it. Problem still exists. I can smell fuel when its trying to start. Haven't done a pressure test yet, have done a tps reset, no codes, battery and charging system are tested and fine, relays are clicking, voltage drop on grounds tested okay. The biggest problem I have is that I only have about 15-25 minutes to diagnose it before it starts. Any thoughts? Is there a sensor I should be chasing?

For any future readers it was the cam position sensor.
