Did you ride one yet?
I just did a demo ride on a 04 XB12R. All I can say is WOW! Bike had a lot of torque. Power was there right from the bottom. I had trouble keeping the front wheel on the ground!

This bike has the race kit installed, about 1800 miles, they want $9999. Bike would be sold as new complete with the two year warranty.

Seems a little high to me. My big problem is I like black and this one is red. Also I have not decided If I should get the Lightning or Firebolt.

I'll tell you one thing though, the demo has sold me on the Buell!

Good luck with your purchase.

I paid $9,400 + tax for mine. I'm "told" $9,500 is dealer cost. $9,288 is a good price as long as they don't tack on other "fees".

Skelo

That sounds like a good price from the research I have done. I am in the market as well and I am curious what dealership is offering that price?

Thanks

Kelly's house of HD/Buell in MA was advertising '04 XB12's for $6,995 out-the-door "no hidden costs" in the Boston Globe this weekend. they said they had 4. i admit that it seems too good to be true, but that's what the ad said.

Depends on the dealership, why you bought it elsewhere, and if you make a big deal out of buying it elsewhere. The service areas I've been to rarely ask where you bought the vehicle.

They don't care. They just want the money. It works like a car. My wife's Chevy was bought on the far east side of Denver and we live on the FAR west side of Denver. She takes it to the closest Chevy dealership for work. I bought my bike in Las Cruces NM.

What about extended warrenties? Are those dealer specific, not, or can be either?

Mine is at a different dealer than the one who sold it to me. There is/was a question of factory warranty coverage and as it turns out the claim was denied. The servicing dealer says that the plugs were cross threaded and the selling dealer has paperwork saying plugs were changed once. So now I am waiting to see if the seller steps up and does anything for me...

My point is that it's better to bring it to same service shop consistently. That way there can't be any finger pointing when something goes wrong.

The warranty, original factory or Harley/Buell ESP is good at any dealer.

I have not had any trouble getting warranty work, recalls, or extended warranty work done at my non-selling, but BRAG and BadWeb sponsoring dealer. I'll probably get my next bike from said dealer unless there is a smokin' deal to be had on a Road King Custom in Appleton, WI... ; )
