The tranverse damper setup I mentioned recently in another post from LSL which uses the front engine isolator bolt as a mounting point is listed on the Trojan Horse website.

For the record, I love the damper I got from Rich Cronrath at Inovation. Performs great! Also he has been very helpful to me. It was a royal pain in the to install on a street going xbr because of wiring/throttle cable routing and interference issues though and it won't work on the s-model unless you are running the r-model headlights and fairing. It would definitely be a first choice on a race-bike and is the same unit the Kosco team is using in Formula Extreme.

Do you have a link? I just went looking, and all I found was the one that's been there on the LSL page.

I have an S and am looking for a damper that does not protrude past the front of the bike like the Stortz model does.

here are some pics of the new LSL damper.

It comes complete with a modified front motor mount bolt that is threaded to accept the damper mount. (The one in the pic has been very loosely assembled just for photos, hence the gap between the bracket and the mounting bolt). They can be specified with either LSL's own 'titanium' damper or a Showa 'Gold' damper at extra cost.

damn that ish is mad expensive I hope it's really expensive purchasing it and I thought xbs doesn't need steering dampers that's atleast what I heard from people hear in this site.

Why is it that you "hope it's really expensive purchasing it?"

The XB's are extremely stable for a bike with such a short wheel base. But that doesn't mean that they are stable in all situations. I've found that they get a little squirly accelerating out of turns, when you hit a ripple in the road at high speeds, or when you're tires are beginning to cup.

$300 is a reasonable price for the security it brings, IMO.

Basically the Innovation damper works the same way, but it goes in front of the steering head, just below the xbr fairing supports and uses a u-shape piece of billet to bolt the damper pivot to the frame (by using the bolts that hold the fairing mount to the steering head).

I sure am glad I had a damper today. The front left the ground while accelerating out of some undulating switchbacks at about 50-60 mph on a two lane highway. It came down with the wheel sideways and simply straightened out as I continued. Not sure if I would have gotten a tank slapper without it, but that is a definite possibility.
