I first installed the kit air filter and removed snorkel, ran the bike a bit until the muffler came. Installed muffler and ran bike some more. Ran fine. I then received the race kit ECM and 12 Airbox cover and installed both. Now I need to have the TPS recalibrated before riding. I started the bike, but wants to run only about 3,000 and above. Assume this is to be expected without a recalibration.

My question: Would you recommend having the TPS recalibration done with the stock 9 airbox cover installed and later try the 12 airbox to see if I can feel a difference? To me it seems I should take it in with the 12 airbox, but this is my first Buell experience and I appreciate all suggestions.

The ECM don't care what box top you have.
It'll adjust.
The recalibration is so your new one will know where zero is.

shorty in your case you do need to recalibrate the race ecm. i got lucky with mine: it started, idled and ran right out of the box. once it is set to your throttle position sensor, you should not need to mess with it for a long time, 10000 miles or so.
