I like the looks, thought I was hoping for a liquid cooled engine. The brakes are awesome though! What do you all think?

I gotta point out some things.
notice it says "Force Cooler" on the rear fairing below the Rider's area on the seat?

ALOT of this stuff looks retro-fittable (PVC Valve in the rocker boxes, Front fairing, Exhaust header maybe, wheels and hence brakes, maybe the new head setup too.)

BTW - did you notice the oil dropping out of the hose's in the engine only shot?! Check it out! The hose thats the furthest away from the motor is dripping oil on the white backdrop! Ahh....tradition. Me feel so bettah. (I know thats a cheap one but I couldn't resist! You just gotta laugh.)

Jason, that exhaust header wouldn't do you any good. It's set up for an exhaust where your shock is now. That'd be a tough one :)

Since it looks like the heads are two valve the only difference for you would be that the breather holes aren't drilled and tapped. The rocker boxes on the other hand would take care of any breather problem (still don't have one myself, big sigh).

As far as the wheels and brakes go, you'd probably have to switch the lower fork legs to get 'em to work for you. The axle may or may not be the same size but the brake mount is definatly different.

Hey, it looks like you could use the lighter rear pulley!!:)

To bad, I was really looking forward to a couple extra valves :(

no kidding...retro-fittable 3 valve heads, or just 3 valve heads in general, would've been nice. But theres time yet.

so ok ok! Some of it won't fit without mods...but I'll bet Tat has some ideas that may help us out.

Jason buddy, Riviara (?) has four valve heads (designed by Jim Fueling) and Fueling has three valve heads. I kept hoping fuel in frame (get it - Fuell(ing)) was a pun to mess us up a little. I figured if Buell started production on multi valve heads they would become more affordable. Witness the cost of Screaming Eagle II heads (Lightning heads in the Buell world) and Thunderstorms. The TS's are half the price and a better heads. I figured with the motor being a doubled Blast the new heads would be straight swap. Oh well.

'Nuf a dat. Damn cool little bike Erik made, ain't it. Smart stuff going on there. Light, light, light. To bad I would squash it's power to weight ratio.

Oh, Oh, We have seen only half the truth.
There are whispers that there comes/is also another engine under that new frame.
In fact no whisper but only steam out of the ears from people who have promised to say nothing and keep their mouth shut.
I said STEAM: H2O cooled and overheated ??!!

Uh...the reason there is oil coming out of the hose is because ITS AN OIL HOSE.

The engine came out of a bike that was operational, thus some oil ran out when the hose was laid down for the photo. Should've plugged the ends of those hoses when they were disconnected!

Looks like Buell and Co have been listening...

Still hydraulic pushrod actuated 4-valve air cooled V-Twin! (Daddy LIKE!)

1. 385 LB! Can you imagine the potential effects of losing 50 lbs from your S1, M2, S3, or X1's frame/engine? Can you say "wheelie monster"? How about "corner eating maniac"?
2. High revver! Hmmmm, wonder what the race ECM and parts will do for HP/T?
3. Easy secondary drive belt replacement!
4. Auto-tensioner on primary!
5. Cleaned-up tail section!
6. Even better front braking!
7. Even more centralized mass than before (fuel tank and oil tank).
8. Maintenance just got even easier... no secondary drive belt adjustment, no primary drive chain adjustment.
9. New airbox is bad news for Mr. Force?
10. New rockerbox solves breather pukage problems?
11. Lean and mean sport machine! Come track day, this thing should put a whoopin' on ALL it's predecessors.

Anyone note the difference between front and rear wheels? (The perimeter front brake allows significant reduction of spoke material since braking load now passes directly from disk to rim to tire to road surface.)

How about the new front engine support?
Still waiting to learn about...

6-speed gearbox? (probably not)

Wanna see the dasboard.

What are the main mounting isolators like on this one... same/similar rubber ones as other Buell twins?

Tire sizes?

Rev limit?

Race accessories?

Let's see the dyno curves.

WAY TO GO BUELL!!! The XB9R is bound to bring a new market into the Buell camp.

Ahhh,

The naming system continues. If my memory serves me correct at this point.

Firebolt = a P47 Thunderbolt that had been modded to carry a jet engine in the tail as well as the big ol' air-cooled radial.

Now I need to dig out my books and check.

so far this is what I have found on the firebolt name.

-It is a naval ship. Also called the PC-10
-It is an arial drone
-the name is mentioned in the Harry Potter books

sorry nothing about an airplane but Loki maybe on onto something
