Pretty sure I collapsed a lifter or something today...

Haven't torn into it yet to look but that's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

I did start it after it sat for about an hour or so and it wasn't as loud so I'll take a look at the primary too but... I've never heard a primary make that kinda sound. I've never broken a tension shoe either though so...

Can a mod delete one of these and change the thread title to "Bad News Noises" please?

No idea why but it insists on the current thread title. Quite odd.

Done.

If the noise remains constant when stopped in gear even while beginning to let out the clutch, just light engagement of clutch, then it's not likely the primary.

I have to admit I only noticed it when I pulled in the clutch and coasted into my drive way... I then put it in neutral and the sound continued even when I let out the clutch (but in neutral so no tension on the primary chain).

It's all good though. I'll tear into it at some point and figure it out.

Thanks for changing the thread for me. When I posted it I noticed it changed me thread title so I posted another one thinking I had screwed it up somehow but the second one I certainly changed to the right title... Upon hitting post it changed it again for me. Odd. I think it has something to do with "Last Pass". It seems to think that the thread title area is for a user ID or password I think.

Seems it was just a loose primary.
