Hey all, I'm new here. Great site, great people. Has anyone seen the "Throttler" on ebay? It helps relieve hand stress. Does anyone use it? How about the "No Flats"?? You squirt this crap in the tires so if you get a puncture it doesn't flatten? Doesn't this create a mess when you change the tires? Thanks for any help.

I don't know about the no flat thing, but I use a throttle rocker on my XB when I know I am going on longer rides. It does work very well. It keeps you from having to keep the death grip on the throttle. Just make sure you position it correctly so that you aren't goosing the throttle if you shift your hand position.

You can pick one up in just about any cycle shop for 8-12 bucks.

The Kuyiaken version is more stable the the throttlerocker brand. Runs about $9 and does the same thing as the throttlerocker. It also uses its own elasticity to hold it in place rather then a velcro strap.

The tire sealant makes a major mess when changing tires. If you use it be absolutely certain you inform the shop changing your tires that that crap is in the tire. Seems to work well for wheelborrow tires when sealing up a multitude of blackberry thorn punctures, beyond that I don't use it.

Wycked, the rocker I have works the same way. I saw the ones with velcro and didn't care for them.

Liquid puncture sealing products are not for preventative maintenance or high speed use... I don't know if I'd use any type of slimy product that could seep out the hole in the tire and lube my contact patch with the ground.... <grin>
You can also damage the finish on your wheels with some of those products...

I have used the Throttle Rocker on a number of bikes and didn't like it. Seemed I never could find a position where I didn't effect the throttle when hitting bumps and the thing just got in my way when I hit the twisties or was riding in traffic.

My preference is a throttle lock as it not only doesn't jump the throttle, it also allows me to rest my right hand/arm on the long hauls. I it can be activated or deactivated in a split second. Plus, in a panic situation you can work the throttle with it activated as it operates on light friction.

Check out the throttle locks from ThrottleMeister, Vista and NEP. However, if you are real persistent and can get through to him, you might be able to "Remind" Court to tell you about how to use a condom as a throttle lock.
