I know many of you have shortened the stock turn signals. Where did you find a a smaller spacer?!?!?!

You really don't need spacers. I'm planning on moving my fronts in after I get finished making my new heat blanket and my pipe mod. The rears really look good on my tail mod. I know alot of people don't like the stock signals but I think the go with bikes style well....Odie

Trevor, all you would need to do is cut the threaded rod running thru the rubbery section to length for a washer and the nut. If you want, I'll do mine first thing in the morning and post for you how to do it. Then back to work on my pipe and heat blanket.

I agree Odie. Did you bring in the rear signals or leave them the stock distance? I want the same spacing up front as there is in the back. I don't have the tools to cut the current threaded tube. Where can I find the threaded tube for the rear signals to use up front? Pics would be good...

I got these from Cycle Gear, 25 bucks for all four.
I shorten mine before I got these, I like these best.

easy enough to shorten fronts: just remove indicators,cut metal tube in half, run a 5/16-24 threading die down the cut end, and reinstall without the plastic spacer. no big deal.}

Don't have to cut the metal tube...just place the plastic "spacer" on the INSIDE of the light housing and re-install the metal tube. The only issue with this simple fix is you may have difficulty with headlight adjustment. To cure this, I simply made a diagonal cut the length of the plastic "spacer" just at a corner outside the hole for the metal tube, so when re-installed inside the headlight housing, the diagonal cut faces downward, then the rear of the headlight housing could be pushed further up for aiming. Simple is best. Although, after reading this, it probably won't sound so simple when you try to picture it in your mind !?!? Oh well, a picture is worth a thousand words, and I'm at work with no camera!

Dam.....Glitch that Carbon fly screen look sick. Where did you get that?

If you want to shorten the signals with out cutting the metal tube just flip it around and tighten down.
it sticks out further under the fly screen but will not hurt anything.

ok but don't do it again odie (j/k)take as long as you want we are in no hurry.... hey fullpower get rid of those lights on the forks it really looks ugly and it doesn't go with the bike..... this is just my opinion and sorry if I offended you with this comment....

Trevor and Jabrien, finally got around to it this morning. Take your windscreen off. Follow the wires coming out of your signals and disconnect them from the wiring harness behind the windscreen. Using a 1/2" wrench take the nut off of the hollow threaded rod holding the blinker on. Pull the signal and the wires off the bike. Slide the plastic extension off of the wires and then unscrew the threaded rod from the signal. You can put the extension behind the windscreen assembly as this would be the easiest and safest route but working in there will be tight but you can do it. I chose to cut the threaded rod and run a die (5/16" -24) over the rod after I cut it off at about 1" long. If you do this be VERY, VERY careful as the rod is soft metal and I twisted them right off with the die. I even went slow and used oil as I went. If this happens to you luckily you have another rod on the other side to use as it is long enough to make two mounts out of. Again, be careful!!!!!!
After you cut it and thread it just put everything back together. I used locktite on everything just as a precaution. If you have any questions at all please ask....Take care...Odie

Hey guys, I forgot one thing. To get the wires out of the threaded rod you have to take the black screw out of the back of the signal and take it apart and take the wires off of the terminals and then slide them thru the mounting stalk and the threaded rod. Then assembly is the reverse of disassembly. Sorry, I was in a hurry when I wrote.....Odie

I used 1/2 square aluminum tubing for the spacer on mine, still hit the headlights. I'ma go to the aftermarket bike shop tomorrow and get some replacements with the short rod.
