Not sure if any one has done this yet, but I thought it worked well. After riding all weekend with plenty of non-Buell bikes I got tired of not being able to do anything with my helmet when we stopped. Then one of the guys offered a handy dandy item his bike had. I attempted to replicate it on my 9R and I think it turned out well, and just wanted to share.

It was rather simple by going to local hardaware store and getting mirror hangers and self tapping screws. Then screw into frame and presto instant helmet holder. Anyway I like it and it is working out well.

Sardawg, neat idea and it looks good.

BTW, you going to be doing the Crud Run on Oct 4th?

Excellent idea, I don't know why I didn't think of that before. My old Bandit had two hooks under the seat just like that. It was great for 2-up riding so you could leave both on the bike if you wanted to. Thanks for sharing!

Slick and Simple. Wonder what the odds on Buell picking that up in the near future? Wouldn't add much to the cost of the bike.

Great idea.

Now you have me wondering if a standard helmet lock would fit in the same place for double security (still have the risk of some idiot cutting the d-rings on Arai though and then shipping it back for repairs).

That's too bad, but I understand Davenport needs you. : )

I'm hoping to have a couple local riders run up there with me. We're thinking of partying up in Madison on Saturday and maybe meet up with Dyna and the gang for the run to Pine Bluff. As usual though plans will probably be changing right up to the last minute.

Maybe you can make the one in the Spring.

Isn;t there some sort of helmet holder in the toolkit? I got this weird looking wire loop that the dealer claimed was for my helmet but I've never been able to figure how it works.

I have the wire loop on my X1. Goes through the D-ring on the helmet and back under the seat to the locking post.

Works ok, but looks flimsy. I imagine the strength of the cable is much greater than it looks. Still, I like the simplicity of what SarDawg has done.

Your idea is a good one but it involves modifying the bike. I use an ordinary padlock that is small enough to fit through the outer hole of the right footpeg on my XB. It's out of the way and it can be used with a small security cable to lock down 2 helmets.

Thanks,
Sparky
