hey everyone, I have an '06 Uly that I am wanting to get a custom Russell day long seat built. I have both the standard and tall seats. I was wondering if anyone knows if the seat pans are the same? If so I will probably keep the regular seat and have the russell built on the tall pan. I only have a 30" inseam. | ||

"hoping to achieve?" The former owner of the local Harley/Buell shop rode a Uly. He was short in the shank too. He had a custom "low" seat, and changed the rear shock to a shorter one. I don't know if he modified the forks, or used shorter ones. I sat on a friend's Uly once. He held it upright, and my feet cleared the ground by a good 4 inches on both sides. Those things are TALL. | ||

Fast1075, The OP states he has 30" inseam; as do I. And, I don't think mod-ing a seat to be lower than the stock '07 seat is the answer. The '07 low seat allows me to touch both feet (a little more than tip toe) when stopped. Not ideal, but not a deal breaker. Parking lot maneuvers, amongst other motos, are not pretty, but I haven't tipped over yet... I've though of lowering the suspension, but the cost vs gain does not ring the bell for me. | ||

The STT suspension is an inch shorter, but still taller than the S, or Ss, so you'd keep some ground clearance if you ever take it off road and want to preserve that ability. |
