After an hour on my XB9S, I decided the seat looked good but became a rock. Ordered the Streetfighter but had to wait three weeks to get it. This one looks and feel much better than stock.

Put it on and mounted up and found that my legs must have shorted about 3/4 of an inch. Damn short legs sometimes won't reach the ground! I thought about modifying it but then became aware of the new, much lower price of the Corbin.

Returned Streetfighter yesterday leading to my question: Corbin's site says seat height aprox. 29.5 inches. My only experience with Corbin was that seat height measurements are not real world. The Corbin, like the Streetfighter spread my legs out and reduced my effective reach. What have those who've been using Corbin found? Hope some of you also have short legs and can give me your experience.

Thanks for all input.

Even though the seat height was advertised as lower than stock, the Corbin on my Blast had me sitting higher than the stock seat due to the gel stuff not compressing as much as the stock seat. Painfully hard after a while too. Sold it.

Shorty - I Installed the Buell Streetfighter seat on my XB last week and had the same experience as you. Its a bit thick between my thighs and I can't get quite flat footed when stopped like I used to - I'm 5'-10". I'm going to wait and see if it compresses a bit with time. It is certainly a more attractive looking seat. I might have it reworked if it doesn't improve. On the other hand, a wider seat might supply more support and therefore more comfort on a longer ride. The jury's still out....

I have the Corbin and I love it but it did increase my seat height. I am 5'9 and I now cannot get my entire foot down at a light but that does not bother me.

Corbin does NOT use gel in any of their products. the foam they use is firmer (harder) than the competing brands. they do take some breaking in and will conform to the rider after 20 hours or so. i can highly recommend the corbin gunfighter saddle, i have almost 10,000 miles on mine, and am very pleased.

Thanks to all for your input. I just called Corbin and gave them my weight, inseam and height. They'll do a shave job and lower seat height 1/2 inch, with no additional charge for this customization.

However, it will take a long time, estimate is 5 to 6 weeks.

Shorty - One of the badwebbers had some custom colors put in his Corbin. As I recall it looked pretty good. Maybe if you do a search you can find the pictures.

I have the streetfighter also and found that when I first put it on, I too had the lack of flatfootedness. However 10,000 miles later and I don't notice it at all. I did sit on the Corbin that Al at American Sport Bike had on his shop 9 and found it to be less comfortable to me then the streetfighter but I didn't get to try the new version he got made. I had the same complaint that he did about the placement of the seatcup.

I have the Corbin. Great seat! Looks are wonderful too.

Price just reduced I am told.
