Do the pirelli's on the xb9sx handle like the diablo's that everyone seems to love. I know the tread is different but I was wondering if shape and handling characteristics were the same

Haven't had the privilege to try the diablo's yet...but after switching to the scorpions, it was the best decision I have made yet so far. I love these tires. They are holding up way better then the 207’s. Once again…Awesome choice Mr. Buell!

Maverick - did you get those from a dealer or are they available aftermarket yet? I'm wondering what kind of mileage you'd get out of those, too.

Loving my Diablo's on my XB9S.... way better than stock tires. Instantly obvious.

Darthane,
Yeah, I got a nail in my rear 207 with 2,500 on them. I don't think they were going to last much longer anyway. I saw the CityX came out with some new tires so I did some research on them. I wanted something that held the corner but still gave me some mileage since I live in the city. Harley wanted just a much for the 207 as the Scorpions, so I opt'd for the Pirelli's. I hated to replace the front as well but with the new profile I didn't want the thing to corner funny. Love them so far and have about 1,200 miles on them. I think they work better for city driving with sand and rocks in the intersections. Like the more aggressive tread.

their prices have been that way for a long time. They have good buys even on the other brands.

Warning on DMTA tho, I got my Diablos from them & am happy with the price, but the customer service I felt stunk. Put in an order online & paid for it, then heard nothign for a few days. Went to check & there was no record of my order. Called em up & was on hold for 30 minutes before I hung up. Called back later & was on hold for almost an hr before I hung up, called a 3rd time & finally got thru after 25 minutes. Was told that since I had ordered 3 tires & one of them was backordered my entire order was canceled...they dont put stuff on backorder. I was ok with that, but why wasnt I notified via email or a phone call?? Guy apologized but that doesnt get me my tires. I told him send me my Diablos & the dunlop for the HD I would get from someonme else.

PS....when I went to get them mounted at my local indy shop, the guy asked what I paid for them with shipping, told him & he notified me that he could have beaten the price by $1.00: D

Moral of the long story...check your local indy shops.

Something tells me there are a lot of half-used 207 fronts sitting in garages around the country!

Pirelli's rock!
(but then so does just about everything but 207's)

I was able to get in on the Pirelli special deal at the begining of this year. I needed tires and just so happened that the Corsas came in first. Got 10K out of them. Cord was showing so now I slapped on the Diablo's about a 1K miles ago. Very happy with the mileage of the Corsa's. So much better than the Dunlops. 3rd set of Dunlop's, never again!(Guess I'm stubborn)

Anytime i deal with an internet company i call the place to make the order as long as it is an option. Always get the sales person's name get an exact cost before you get off the phone.

I've bought 3 tires this year from DMTA, had them mount a tire last Saturday. They're here in Denver, so I just bring 'em a wheel and have them mounted while I wait. They are not the largest operation around.

I was surprised that they adjust the "in store price" to match the price you would pay if you ordered the tire online and paid for shipping. That means they tack on $8-16 the tire price in house.

Still the cheapest around.
