My son and I are rebuilding a 09 xb12 and found an older set of forks from an 03 firebolt .... Can someone help with how we can get around the steering stop issue? The modern 09 frame we have doesn't like the firebolts dual tab scenario..should I shave them off or look for another answer??

What model is the 09 XB12? If it is a Ulysses or Lightning Long, You can't use 03 forks. You will need to use 05+ forks, plus a SS/Uly lower tree with the 05+ Firebolt upper tree.

Thank you...I already have the forks...it has the dual tabs on the lower triple....maybe I will just look for the correct lower set....I was also considering grinding the tabs off and welding a center tab on... Appreciate the info
