I found a Track that might be willing to rent out for 2 days (if we can make it on thurs-fri or fri-sat)for 5000.00 that brakes down to 2500 per day!!This includes a ambulance and med-tech.6hrs per day.For 20 people thats 250 per person for 2 days of track time.We can Camp for for 7 per camper or 49.95 per night for hotel for 2 per room.I have spoke with a former racer that might be willing to give his time for free( aggressive street riding and track, racing techniques!!!

Wardog might have the right idea. STT(Sportbike Track Time) is a good deal. Most of their days are in the $150-$200 range, they feed you and offer a novice class with classroom instruction between sessions for those with no or limited experience. For the fastest lap award, they offer transponders. Why go through all the hassle of trying set all of this up independently.

ayden i think the reason they are trying to do it independantly is cuz they want it to be a buell event

Yes I want this to be a Buell event!!!I'm still checking on prices on four different tracks.Yes the other options is just post some dates with some tracks or clubs like Sportbiketracktime.com,G.A sportbike.com,Ed Bargy.com,racingschool,JenningsGP.com,NESBA.com. I’m checking on Nashville motor speedway,Jennings Fla. with is a little far south from Atlanta about 41/2hrs away, Talladega and Carolina motorsports Kershaw S.C. Barber would be nice but like Atlanta to much money!!!I'm aiming for spring.I would like this to be a Buell event, I'll have prices soon.I will with reserve the track in my name help and set up hotel locations ,prices and even hook up on tires.Set of D208 for about 210,Diablos for about 250,Diablo Supercosra for about 325.Not including mounting and bal. if we wait until spring that will give everyone some time to save money get time of from work or from the wife and kids etc.

We did a STT event at Pahrump. We had 22 of our BRAG people show up.

The problem (as you mentioned) is COST. If you want it to be exclusive, SOMEBODY is going to have to come up with the $$$ to secure the track, cornerworkers, ambulance and all that - start thinking of $3000 out of pocket (minimum) - don't scrimp on cornerworkers either!!! - figure $4000 for a high-class track day. Cornerworkers with EXPERIENCE are CRITICAL and often overlooked by the budget operators.

We were better off to just send out email notices to our BRAG club that we were going out on a specific 2 days with STT and announce that we would be bringing pop-up shades and providing the hospitality and a comfortable place to hangout. STT did the track day - and it only cost the normal cost.

YOU CAN do it - but unless you KNOW you can get more than 20, you really ought to try doing it as part of a normal track day to see how it works out. THEN if you have "TOO MANY" show up, you can think about trying it as an exclusive event later

Check out the pics from our Golden State BRAG track day a couple months back - (first pic is of the whole mob):

To be honest, I don't think we'll have any trouble getting enough people to split the cost. We have about ten or twelve people chomping at the bit, not to mention BadWeBbers. Since we have until spring, I think it's doable. Plus if you knew Shred, you'd know he's already made his mind up, and that's that. We couldn't change it if we tried!

Glitch,

The idea of a Buell track day is still too cool. We had people calling and emailing each other within a day of returning home trying to set up the next one!

You just gotta do it. You're going to have a great time - especially if you work it through one of the regular operators who know the tracks and local logistics.

Stand-alone Buell day or split with another group - JUST DO IT! We have some real enthusiasts and now regularly get a dozen out on a normal track day just with a bunch of phone calls and emails.

Instead of doing this at a track close to/in Florida you'll probably find you'd get more participation if you moved it farther north. That would allow riders from more areas to be within a day's drive of the event. Somewhere in Tennessee, perhaps, but no farther south than Road Atlanta. I'm sure there are others like me who could be interested, but I'm not going all the way to Florida for a Buell only event when Mid-Ohio is practically in my back yard. I would consider driving up to 8 hours, but probably no farther.

Just a suggestion...

It was mine as well.
Right now Shred is talking to a track, looks really good. He won't let me say where yet, but I can say it ain't Florida, and it's north of Road Atlanta. Shred is at the Ridge Run, and he'll be working on it again when he gets back. This will happen, I know Shred, and I know this will happen.
