dealership is tryin to take my money...go figure...from what they r saying, there is no internal damage to my motor...so its not going to be totalled, just 4 or 5 grand put back into it...i want to do the work myself, im sick of the dealership hitting me with all these HIDDEN charges of storage, and blah blah..has anyone been in the situation where you would have rather done the work to fix the bike (in about 2 or 3 weeks) or wait 2 months for the dealer to do it???

I would attempt ANY job I knew I could do instead of a Stealership, ahem, Dealership. Thats part of the fun in owning a nice bike for me. But I'd like to know exactly what happened to you as well.

I agree, if I can do it, then I will do it. Rather than let the dealership have it. Details man details!

Whoa, hold on there! Are you saying the dealership is refusing to service your bike ever again unless you buy your parts from them! Dude, you need to get in touch with Buell customer service, you need to talk to the Better Business Bureau. You need to get your bike back from those thugs and if they threaten you at that time give them the name and number of your lawyer. If you don't have one then talk to one. These guys need a reality check. Who are they???? I guess you had a crash and put your bike in the shop? Correct?

"i am getting threatened by the dealership if i dont buy my parts from them"

Step 1: take a chill pill, soda break, mac&cheese break, long walk, whatever to help alleviate the link between your emotional state the the words that make their way to your keyboard.

Step 2: Write out a very detailed letter, specifically very objective and very impartial and very to the point and factual detailing everything that has been said and happened so far relative to this current situation with said dealership.

Step 3: contact Harley/Buell Customer Service and politely ask them WTF is in charge and whom you might foreward your dealership complaint to.

Step 4: mail the letter and cc your local district attorney if prudent to do so.

Step 5: contact a friendlier dealership and a lawyer and have your bike transferred to the new dealership immediately.

IMHO of course.

By the way, is the shop the one in your profile?

Perhaps they need a reminder of the principles that their dealership was founded upon.

I've just had my own share of dealership issues with various brands of stuff, and I loose "it" at times myself.
Hope your situation improves. Sometimes talking with the store owner can do wonders, start off by talking about something else regarding the store, then sidestep into the current situation. Sort of like getting them to drop their guard a bit before they realize they're standing in a pile of horsepuckey their employees have been flinging about.

Fight the good fight. Let us know how it all turns out.

well eric cerini (owner) waived the storage charges...this im very content with...and because of that, they will continue to get my business (tire changes etc) but i am going to fix my bike myself (with a little help of my friends) i would say cerini harley/buell is a fair and honest dealership in all, cant let one bad seed in the bunch ruin my relationship with them: )

i like it when someone drops the name of a bad employee of a company, so when i meet them face to face i say
"So you are johnny jones, yeah i heard about you" with a condescending tone like ' you suck'

I often provided my dealership with parts which I got overnight from Modesto when my dealership would take two to four weeks for the same part. I even had the service mgr call me up to ask 'do you want to order those parts?'
