Anyone else have transaction issues with these guys?

I purchased a throttle tube from them that was advertised in detail on their website. I contacted them prior to my purchase and they cordially discussed that the part was correct for my application They took my money and sent me an incompatible part. Then they answered my requests for a refund or exchange with complete silence.

I know of at least one other person who placed an order with them, they took his money, told him the part was not in stock and then charged him a 25% restocking fee.

contact your bank, report it as a FRAUD transaction.
Let the bank fraud squad and their accountants sort it out.

My experience with them . . .and one of their US distributors . . .cost me $60 with nothing to show for my effort but the lesson to never buy from them (or the distributor) again.

I seriously hope that someone is looking into these allegations. I would hate to think that someone is being allowed to be a sponsor on this site if they are acting as a predator to the members here. I think this deserves a resolution one way or another.

I haven't bought from Twin Motorcycles directly but have bought stuff from 5-0Dro, which I believe is the "US distributor" mentioned above. I have nothing but good things to say for 5-0Dro.

One of these days I'll order something directly from Twin, but there isn't much he sells that I can't get from a stateside sponsor for significantly less cost.

I'd darn sure want to know facts first.

Dris has been a long time member of the community and this sounds highly at odds with what I would suspect.

But when I see Don Casto pop up with that comment it tells me Dris needs to get in here and explain what the heck is going on.

Don's word is like gold in the world of Buell.

I can speak for Don's case since it involves 5-0dro. I will not get into the "nitty gritty" details (nor will I get into a web argument over it) but in general, this is what happened:

Two special order products (intake flange sets) were purchased then he had some installation issues (roughly 2 months after the purchase) which we worked with Twin through many emails to advise on the correct installation procedure. Don was dissatisfied with that procedure and insisted that we take the products back.

Even though we clearly state that Twin Motorcycles parts are not returnable (mainly due to the international shipping costs involved), we offered to return the products less the shipping costs.

We're sorry that any customer is ever dissatisfied. In this isolated case, we feel we did as much as we could under the circumstances to take care of the situation. I can assure you,as can our loyal customers, this is not the experience with nearly 100% of our customers and the Twin Motorcycles team has been very supportive with any customer questions or concerns that have ever come up since we've been a US dealer for them.

I'd like to hear more about Don's experience. Was this with the intake seal kits? Just curious since I have a set in my XB9S.
