Adding freer flowing exhaust and air filter deserves if not requires the race ECM, but what about the other way around?

What to expect if just swapping in the race ECM alone?

Ref XB9R, no snorkel, updated inner airbox with the downward cone, stock muffler

Thanks in advance

Fairly obviously, it'll give a slightly richer fuel system.
Will it work better than what you have, possibly...maybe not..!
Depends on how lean your stock ECM is setup vs. your location. If you're down at sea level or up in Colorado...it may or may not work well.

Or will the AFV adjust itself so it's not richer? At least in that area of the map. You could wind up with lean areas and rich areas of the fuel map once it adjusts itself. Probably not so much as to be the end of the world, but it's not the "correct" map.
