Has anyone definitively figured out alternative injectors for the X1 and 2003 XB9? There are several threads hinting at BMW R1100 and PT Cruiser injectors being used, but the threads dead end with no conclusion. I need a direct replacement, preferably without needing to modify the injector harness. I own a few BMW R bikes, but am leery to yank an injector and try it without first making sure this theory is plausible. I'm very interested in the PT Cruiser injector, as there are tons of these in the local scrap yards. What say you?

Have you sent the pair of injectors for service? I used this place and mine turned out fine http://www.fuelinjectorconnection.com/ only problem was they lost track of my stuff and it took a long time. If they can't fix it, they should be able to offer a suggestion for replacement.

Alternate ideas for an 03 would be to get the later throttle body, fuel rail, velocity stack, and injectors, then do a tune with ecm spy or tuner pro since the newer injectors flow a little more. I did this on mine when I installed my 1050cc kit.

Ok, I just went ahead and made the swap.

BMW/Bosch
1999 R1100s Injectors, and/or any R1150 series injectors WILL work in the 2003 XB9.

You must shave .020 plastic tab from shaft of injector for the injector to seat properly, but it's easy.

Bike fires and "carburetes" cleanly.

Will be doing a track day the weekend of the 4th, and will report back. This swap became necessary due to the looming track weekend, and trying to resuscitate a very badly abused and dormant XB9, and the lack of injectors on the market for this machine at the moment.

Proof of concept.

Any opinions on it working for an '07 XB12?

07 uses short injectors in common with lots of cars and several threads on the subject, about $50 each if my memory is correct and inflation hasn't grabbed them.

Did you get a Bosch part number for those injectors? Might be useful down the road.
